'It's a fun offense to be part of' – Heat boosted by Herro return as Mavs beaten
Bam Adebayo declared the Miami Heat's offense is more fun to be part of with Tyler Herro fit, after the latter finally made his season debut in their win over the Dallas Mavericks.
Miami beat Dallas 106-102 at Kaseya Center to improve to 12-6 for the season on Monday, with only the 15-2 Detroit Pistons and 13-5 Toronto Raptors boasting better records in the Eastern Conference.
The game was Herro's first since last season, after the 2025 All-Star underwent ankle surgery and missed the start of the campaign.
He racked up a team-high 24 points, including a floater that put the Heat ahead for the final time with less than a minute to go, while Adebayo added 17 points and six rebounds.
"It was a long nine, 10 weeks or so, but it went by fast," Herro said after the victory.
"The team has been having a lot of fun, and just to be able to go out there and compete with them tonight was great."
After teeing Herro up to put Miami ahead 104-102 with 48 seconds to go, Adebayo made a pair free throws to kill the contest.
Asked about his on-court relationship with Herro, Adebayo said: "You see it out there, man. We've got a lot of guys that are hard to guard off the catch.
"As you see, it's a fun offense to be part of. It's not a lot of pick-and-rolls, but it's sharing the game.
"Everyone feels involved, everyone gets a chance to be aggressive, and we're being successful off of it."

The Heat have three more home games to come in the next six days, against the Milwaukee Bucks, the in-form Pistons and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Head coach Erik Spoelstra is excited to watch Herro play his way back into full fitness, saying: "It's amazing that he can come back and have that kind of rhythm, and that's only going to get better.
"When you face better defenses, you can see why we need that skill. You need as much skill and firepower as possible in this league. It was just exciting to have him back.
"It's not an adjustment for him in terms of how we play. He's going to fit right in. He's going to amplify everything we're doing. I'm happy for him and it's good that we'll be able to build on this."
