Ireland leave Henderson, Porter and Henshaw out of Six Nations squad
Ireland icon Iain Henderson has been left out of Owen Farrell's 37-man squad for the Six Nations, with Andrew Porter and Robbie Henshaw also absent due to injury.
Ireland endured a disappointing 2025 Six Nations campaign, finishing third in the table behind France and England following back-to-back successes in 2023 and 2024 – with the former seeing them win the Grand Slam.
They start their 2026 campaign against France on February 5, and Farrell has left several big names out of his party.
Thirty-three-year-old Henderson – who has won five Six Nations titles and two Grand Slams since making his Ireland debut in 2012 – has been omitted, with seven of his Ulster team-mates included.
Porter is absent due to a calf issue, while Henshaw sustained a knee injury while representing Leinster in the Champions Cup against Bayonne last weekend.
Hugo Keenan and Jamie Osborne are both back following long injury lay-offs, while Edwin Edogbo and Nathan Doak are the two uncapped players included in the group.

Farrell said: "I believe that we have a talented and committed group who have the aptitude and drive to bring success to Ireland over the coming weeks.
"The Six Nations is an incredible tournament which brings out the best in players, and I have no doubt that these fixtures will be keenly contested once more.
"The squad has evolved over the last 18 months, with 12 players making their international debuts over the last year alone, and I know how keen this group is to make its mark for Ireland.
"Led once more by Caelan [Doris], we know that we have to hit the ground running and we're looking forward to regrouping on Sunday and meeting the challenges ahead in a positive frame of mind."
