Holiday: Portland's identity is 'to make it tough on teams'
Jrue Holiday believes the Portland Trail Blazers' energy makes it tough for every team they play after a stunning win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder were unbeaten heading into Wednesday's game, but Portland handed the defending NBA champions their first loss as they ran out 121-119 victors.
The Trail Blazers had to overcome a 22-point first-quarter deficit, but Deni Avdija had 26 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, while Holiday added 22 points, including two clutch free throws.
Portland outscored Oklahoma City in all the other quarters, with Jerami Grant also scoring 20 off the bench as they moved to 5-3 for the season.
And Holiday credited Portland's attitude after they took the game to the Thunder.
"Honestly, I feel like the way that we play, the energy that we come with every game, it's not going to be an easy night for anyone who comes in here or who plays against us," Holiday said.

"I think that's part of our identity; to make it tough on teams. And it just goes to show that no matter who's going to play or who's going to be out there, we're going to give you 100%.
"So, any team that we play against, we feel like we have a chance."
In the past week, Portland have also beaten the Denver Nuggets, just before suffering a defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Avdija led the team and was most pleased by their reaction to going so far behind in the first quarter, noting that it would have been much different in the past.
"Back in the day, in those moments, it will turn into 40, and it will be like a garbage-time game," Avdija said of that first-quarter hole.
"But I think the mentality we have now, with the team and the aggressiveness and the mindset, it shows character. And we have a lot of character on this team."
