Harper excited to face 'different animal' Oklahoma City after Spurs reach West finals
Dylan Harper knows the San Antonio Spurs will be facing a "different animal" in the Oklahoma City Thunder after progressing to the Western Conference finals.
The Spurs, led by the impressive backcourt trio of Stephon Castle, De'Aaron Fox and Harper, clinched a 139-109 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 6, to win the semifinals 4-2.
Castle had 32 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, while Fox added 21 points and nine assists. Harper impressed from the bench with 15 of his own, ensuring San Antonio will be playing the Thunder, who swept their first two series, in Game 1 on Monday.
"What we're walking into on Monday is a different animal," Harper said.
"The experience is great for all of us. But we've just got to have the mindset of we're going to keep the foot on the gas no matter what."
San Antonio will play in the conference finals for the first time since 2017, and the 15th time overall.

Spurs finished with the third-most points in a playoff game in franchise history, with their backcourt trio accounting for 58.2% of their scoring, while shooting 23-of-30 from the field.
Castle and Fox scored or assisted on 28 of the Spurs' first 36 points in a stunning first-quarter performance, and head coach Mitch Johnson was particularly impressed with the former.
"He was pretty damned good," Johnson said of Castle.
"His temperament and disposition led to him having the right approach and playing the right way.
"When they have the right approach and play with the fundamentals needed at this level to execute, their talent can take it to another level. He had a few moments where he did that. De'Aaron was pretty good, too."
