Kevin Durant believes the Houston Rockets will only continue to grow after their hard-fought win over the Orlando Magic.

Houston triumphed 117-113 in overtime on Sunday, having trailed by 11 points in the fourth quarter before rallying.

Durant and Alperen Sengun were the stars of the show for the Rockets, with 35 and 30 points, respectively.

The Rockets made it four straight wins, and Durant says the team are growing in confidence with every passing game.

"The Magic have been up and down through the season compared to expectations, but the last few games, they’ve got back to their brand of basketball," he said.

"They hit us a bit too hard in that first quarter. We just tried to weather the storm and play through it. We couldn’t get over the hump in the first three quarters but once we got up by one, we felt confident that we could finish the game off.

"Games like this, we can learn from and keep getting better from."

Asked for the secret behind the Rockets' comeback, Durant said: "I just like how we stayed in constant communication with the bench about what we needed to do to get back into the game. The staff and the players were communicating the whole time – it makes us confident every time we step on the floor.

"Going through games like this is important for us as a group, but it’s cool to get the wins."

Durant also feels the attention he naturally garners from the opposition down the stretch can be of a benefit to his teammates, even if there is a delicate balance to strike.

He added: "I know a lot of teams will put attention on me in the fourth. When you’ve got 1,000+ games of me playing, they know what it is with me in the fourth. Having that type of fear opens things up for my teammates.

"But it’s a balance I’ve got to strike, sometimes I overpass, it’s always about learning that balance.

"I feel like these guys are all confident. Understanding how to win games is going to take some time. Every team is learning on the fly throughout the season. These guys have been around the block – they understand."

Durant, who joined the Rockets from the Phoenix Suns earlier this year, is averaging 25.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game this season.

The Rockets are 9-3 for the season.
