Coco Gauff had to come from behind again at the Miami Open, but stormed past Alycia Parks to book her place in the fourth round.

Just like in the previous round against Elisabetta Cocciaretto, Gauff showed her fight and came out on top 6-3 6-0 6-1 in one hour and 50 minutes.

Gauff opened with an early break to surge into a 2-0 lead, but Parks reeled off each of the next five games to take control, holding off the world number four well and converting her first set point.

But that only spurred Gauff into life as she won the next nine games in a row, though she was pushed to her limit by Parks, who forced 10 break points in that time without converting.

Gauff then won the final three games to make it through the third round and noted how important it had been to keep her serve under pressure.

"It was really difficult," Gauff said after her win. "She was playing really well, and she's one of those people who's hit or miss sometimes.

"So, you're stuck in the fine line of being aggressive but also maybe just making her play. And I think I got too stuck on the other end of it.

"I think for me, it was honestly just staying on my serve."

Elsewhere, Victoria Mboko also made it through to the round of 16 with a 6-1 7-5 victory over Anastasia Zakharova.

Data Debrief: Comeback queen

Since the start of last season, only Jessica Pegula (13) has claimed more comeback wins at WTA level than Gauff (11), with this her second at this year's Miami Open.

The only other time the American claimed multiple comeback wins at a WTA-1000 event, she went on to claim tournament victory, defeating Yuliia Starodubtseva (QF) and Paula Badosa (SF) in Beijing in 2024.

Gauff saved 14 break points on serve, including 10 across the second and third sets. Parks, meanwhile, converted just two of 16 chances, while Gauff converted six of 13.
