Steve Borthwick has included three uncapped players in his squad for England's Six Nations campaign, while George Furbank also returns after his injury troubles.

Exeter's Greg Fisilau, Bath's Vilikesa Sela and Northampton's Emmanuel Iyogun were also included in England's 36-man squad, which was announced on Friday.

England faced a shortage of props after Asher Opoku-Fordjour and Will Stuart sustained injuries, while Harlequins' Fin Baxter is continuing to recover from a foot issue.

Their front-row issues have also seen a call-up for 33-year-old Trevor Davison of Northampton, who joins Ellis Genge, Joe Heyes, Bevan Rodd, Sela and Iyogun as prop options.

Versatile full-back Furbank makes his return to the international fold, despite playing only four games for Northampton so far this season due to persistent calf problems.

"We've picked a squad with a good balance of experience, leadership and exciting potential," head coach Borthwick said.

"The margins in the Six Nations are incredibly fine, so our aim over the coming days is to come together quickly, prepare thoroughly, and make sure we're ready to perform.

"If we prepare well and keep demanding the highest levels from one another, it puts us in the strongest possible position when the Championship begins."

Arthur Clark, Bevan Rodd, Jack van Poortvliet and Seb Atkinson have been brought in.

Noah Caluori and Northampton pair George Hendy and Ollie Sleightholme miss out on back-three slots with Henry Arundell, Cadan Murley and Elliot Daly preferred.

Further injury concerns see Fin Smith (calf), Tom Roebuck (toe), Ollie Lawrence (knee) and Ben Curry (hamstring) named for rehabilitation purposes alongside the squad.

England finished second last year, their best performance since lifting the trophy in 2020. They open their Six Nations campaign against Wales on February 7.
