Arthur Fery is relishing the opportunity to face "top players week in, week out" after his dream Wimbledon run.

The 24-year-old was handed a wildcard for the grand slam, but stunned the crowd at the All England Club as he reached the semi-finals before losing to French Open champion Alexander Zverev.

Fery became the first wildcard to reach the men's singles semi-final at a grand slam event since eventual champion Goran Ivanisevic (Wimbledon 2001).

And among players to begin their career in the Open Era, only three had claimed fewer ATP-level match wins than Fery (11) en route to a maiden major semi-final.

Fery is now ranked 36th in the world, making him British number one, and he is looking forward to more battles against the best players on the tour.

"It means I can play the top players week in, week out and compare myself to them and keep working on my tennis," Fery told Sky Sports.

"I am going to have to get accustomed to the full life of tour with more media attention and all of that but I think I'm ready for it.

"It is going to be a first as well playing the US Open. I didn't even play qualifiers last year so it's going be a great experience."

The next and final grand slam of the year is the US Open, which starts at the end of August.

The top 32 players in the ATP rankings will be seeded for the tournament, and Fery believes he could be among the group if things go his way.

"I might already be in there [the top 32] if I'm lucky, a few withdrawals," Fery added.

"I don't think I will be able to contribute to the ranking anymore before the list comes out for the US Open, because it's going to come out soon.

"Being seeded obviously protects you a little bit from the top guys, but it's my first main draw that I qualify for directly with my ranking so just going to take it as it goes."
