Clark, Collier selected as captains for WNBA All-Star Game
Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier have been selected as captains for next month's WNBA All-Star Game.
The league announced the two superstars earned the honour on Sunday after receiving the most fan votes for the showcase exhibition.
Clark received 1,293,526 votes, while Collier received 1,176,020.
As captains, the two will draft the fellow starters for their teams from a group of players to be revealed on Monday. They will then select their reserves from a pool of 12 players, who will be announced next Sunday.
The All-Star Game will be played on July 19 in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse - the home of Clark's Indiana Fever.
Clark, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, also led the fan voting last season. The Fever star is averaging 18.2 points and a career-high 8.9 assists but has missed seven games due to various injuries for 8-8 Indiana.
Collier, last season's MVP runner-up, leads the WNBA in scoring with a career-high 24.5 points per game and ranks fourth in rebounds at 8.4 per game while guiding the Minnesota Lynx to a league-best 13-2 record.
The Fever and Lynx will square off on Tuesday in the Commissioner's Cup final.
