Finlay Bealham has been called up to the British and Irish Lions squad after Zander Ferguson suffered a calf injury.

Glasgow Warriors prop Ferguson was set for his second Lions' tour but has not featured for his side since April.

Ferguson has been capped more than 70 times for Scotland and toured South Africa with the Lions in 2021.

Bealham, who was born in Australia, made his international debut for Ireland in 2016 after qualifying through his grandmother.

The 33-year-old played every game in Ireland's 2025 Six Nations tournament, winning his 50th cap in the process.

Lions head coach Andy Farrell said: "It's tough on Zander to miss out so close to the Tour, but now Finlay gets an opportunity to come in and add to the group.

"This is, unfortunately, part and parcel of the game, so we always have to be prepared for that.

"But it's great to finally be at the stage where we can get onto the training ground and get to work with these players."

The Lions last toured Australia in 2013, winning the Test series 2-1. They have since drawn with New Zealand in 2017 and lost to South Africa in 2021.

Farrell's side face the Wallabies in Tests on July 19, July 26 and August 2, while also playing seven other matches on tour.
