Felix Auger-Aliassime booked his spot in the last four of the ATP Finals, after defeating Alexander Zverev in straight sets.

The Canadian won 6-4 7-6 (7-4) in two hours and eight minutes to set up a semi-final against world number one Carlos Alcaraz on Saturday.

Auger-Aliassime had some nervy moments in the first set, being forced to save two break points before eventually getting the better of Zverev’s serve.

Although he needed four break points to clinch the opener, Auger-Aliassime capitalised on the German's wastefulness at the net.

Both players squandered more break opportunities in the second set, leading to a must-win tiebreak for Zverev.

But despite taking a 4-3 lead, the three-time major finalist failed to force a third set, as Auger-Aliassime won four consecutive points to clinch his spot in the last four in Turin.

Data Debrief: Auger-Aliassime proudly waves the Canadian flag

Auger-Aliassime is just the second Canadian to reach the last four of the ATP Finals, after Milos Raonic in 2016. His win over Zverev was also his 50th ATP victory of the year.

Having notched up 60 victories in 2022, he is the first Canadian during the Open Era to manage 50 or more wins in two different seasons.

Zverev, meanwhile, now is 4-11 against ATP top-10 opponents in 2025. Only two ATP top-three players have more such losses in a season since 1973: Jimmy Connors (13 in 1984) and Stefan Edberg (12 in 1992).
