Gregor Brown will make his first Six Nations start when Scotland face France on Saturday.

The 23-year-old replaces Jonny Gray at lock, while Matt Fagerson is also recalled in place of the injured Jack Dempsey in the other change from last week's win over Wales.

Ireland and England will be hoping for a favour from Gregor Townsend's side, who will open the door to their championship hopes by denying the table-toppers at Stade de France.

However, Scotland have lost each of their last three away games in the Six Nations, with all of those defeats coming by four points or fewer.

And France have won 20 of their 25 previous clashes with Scotland in the tournament (L5), though four of those five losses have come in their most recent nine encounters.

Glasgow Warriors lock Brown is joined in the second row by Grant Gilchrist, who will become the 10th Scotland player to earn 80 caps.

Jamie Dobie comes onto the bench alongside the Edinburgh duo of Marshall Sykes and Ben Muncaster, who will make their Six Nations bows should they appear.
