Zverev downs Fritz to tee up Fery semi-final at Wimbledon
Taylor Fritz proved no match for Alexander Zverev, who stormed into his first Wimbledon semi-final.
While the crowd at SW19 will have been cheering on shock home hope Arthur Fery, reigning French Open champion Zverev made light work of sixth seed Fritz.
The German triumphed 6-4 6-4 6-2 with the minimum of fuss, securing victory with his first match point.
Zverev teed up two match points with a brutal ace, which he followed up with another unreturnable serve.
His victory came just moments after Fery's dream run continued with a 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 6-0 defeat of Flavio Cobolli on Centre Court.
Zverev will now take on Fery with both players hunting their first appearance in a Wimbledon final, with Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic contesting the other semi-final.

Zverev gets the better of regular foe Fritz
This dominant Zverev triumph bucked a trend.
Fritz had won 10 of his 15 previous Tour-level meetings with Zverev, including each of his last seven before this tie, with three of those being on grass, including a victory in the Halle Open semi-finals last month.
In fact, only Daniil Medvedev (14) has claimed more wins over Zverev than Fritz's 10, which is level with Sinner and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
However, Zverev banished those demons in style to reach a 12th major semi-final. He is the third German man in the Open Era to reach the last four at each of the grand slams, after Boris Becker and Michael Stich.
Zverev is the second-oldest player in the Open Era to achieve the feat, after Marin Cilic.
Now, he will have to contend with the tournament's surprise package, who is sure to be backed on by a huge home crowd.
