'You can't take it for granted' – Siakam urges Pacers to build on latest win
Pascal Siakam said the Indiana Pacers "can't take a win for granted" after ending a three-game losing skid on Friday.
The Pacers improved their season record to 3-16 with a 119-86 win over the Washington Wizards in a clash of two of the worst teams in the NBA this year.
Siakam led the Pacers with 24 points and 11 rebounds, with Bennedict Mathurin also getting 20 points to earn Indiana their first win in the NBA Cup this season, having already been eliminated.
And it was just a second win in 12 games for last season's Eastern Conference champions, with both of those victories coming at home.
It was the first time since December 2022 that the Pacers have held an opponent to fewer than 90 points, with Alex Sarr getting little support after getting 24 points.
Siakam is hopeful the Pacers can build on not only this win but also their recent positive performances.
"I think our intensity is a little bit up. We gotta keep building on this," Siakam said.

"I thought our energy and our effort on defense have been good in these past three or four games. Gotta build good habits. That's what I've been telling the guys every single day.
"You can't take it for granted. When you're used to winning, you take it for granted.
"We've got to take it and enjoy it and know what it took for us to get to that. We can't keep losing."
Next up for the Pacers are the Chicago Bulls, who have a 9-9 record, on Saturday.
