Fulham's hopes of qualifying for Europe are all but over after a 1-1 draw with relegated Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday.

Marco Silva's team now sit three points behind eighth-placed Brentford – who also have a superior goal difference – in 12th, with Sunderland, Chelsea and Everton also between them and the Bees ahead of the final matchday.

Mateus Mane stung the palms of Bernd Leno before sending a powerful effort into the top-left corner from the edge of the box in the 25th minute.

However, following a pitchside VAR review by referee Thomas Kirk, the Wolves youngster was deemed to have committed a reckless foul on Timothy Castagne in the box and Antonee Robinson converted the resulting penalty in first-half stoppage time.

Fulham were unable to build on that goal, though, with Wolves having the better of the chances in the second half.

Yerson Mosquera headed wide when unmarked at a corner, before Adam Armstrong dinked an effort against the outside of the post in the 68th minute.

The introduction of Harry Wilson gave Fulham a burst of energy, but they never looked like getting the better of Jose Sa for a second time.

Fulham take on Newcastle United at Craven Cottage on the final day, while Wolves will look to avoid finishing bottom by winning at Burnley.

Data Debrief: A tale of two moments for Mane

Mane's goal was his third in the Premier League this season, and they have all come from outside the box.

He is just the second Portuguese teenager to hit that mark, with the other being Cristiano Ronaldo in 2003-04.

At 18 years and 243 days old, he also became the youngest player in Premier League history to score and concede a penalty in the same game. Jonathan Woodgate (19 years and 85 days old) held the record previously.

It was an even game and the draw was ultimately a fair result, with Wolves tallying 11 shots and 1.4 expected goals (xG), compared to Fulham's 13 shots and 1.53 xG.
