Rangers confirm season-long loan for Danilo at Botafogo
Rangers midfielder Danilo will spend the 2026-27 campaign on loan at Botafogo, the Scottish Premiership giants confirmed on Saturday.
Danilo joins the Serie A side with a conditional obligation to buy based on appearances, having struggled with injuries since moving to Glasgow three years ago.
The 27-year-old has netted 16 goals in 76 appearances for Rangers across all competitions, though more than half of those outings have come from the bench (42).
He fell out of favour under former Rangers boss Danny Rohl, appearing just 17 times under him before spending the second part of last season on loan to Nijmegen.
Danilo struggled to make an impact in the Netherlands, netting just once in 12 outings for the club.
The Brazilian joins a Botafogo side that sit ninth in Serie A after 19 games of their campaign, and have resumed their season after the World Cup with a 2-1 win over Santos and a draw against Vitoria.
We can today confirm Danilo has joined Brazilian side @Botafogo on a season-long loan with a conditional obligation to buy.
