Wilson's game-winner lifts Aces over Mercury

A'ja Wilson made the go-ahead basket with 22 seconds remaining to cap a stat-stuffing performance, and the Las Vegas Aces edged the Phoenix Mercury 84-81 on Sunday.

Wilson scored the decisive basket on a tough layup that came from a Chelsea Gray pass to make it 83-81, and the Las Vegas defence held strong down the stretch to snap Phoenix's six-game winning streak.

Wilson finished with 26 points, 18 rebounds and seven assists.

Aces rookie Aaliyah Nye made five 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 16 points, while Jackie Young had 15 points and six assists as Las Vegas got back to .500 (8-8).

Alyssa Thomas led the Mercury with 16 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, while Kahleah Copper chipped in 15 points.

Reese extends rebound streak as Sky top Sparks

Angel Reese became the first WNBA player to grab 15 or more rebounds in four consecutive games, and the Chicago Sky pulled away to beat the Los Angeles Sparks 92-85.

Reese scored a season-high 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting and finished with 16 rebounds and seven assists.

Reese, the WNBA's leading rebounder this season, has averaged 17.5 rebounds over her last four games.

Ariel Atkins added 20 points for Chicago, while Rachel Banham hit a trio of 3-pointers to finish with 13 points.

Kelsey Plum shot just 4 for 16 from the floor but made all 12 of her free throws to lead the Sparks with 22 points.

Dearica Hamby finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Emma Cannon scored 15 points in just 14 minutes.

Dream start fast to beat sputtering Liberty

Brionna Jones scored eight of her 21 points in the first quarter, and the Atlanta Dream beat the New York Liberty 90-81.

Atlanta were up 29-19 after the first quarter and led by as much as 20, thanks largely to a 62-36 advantage in points in the paint.

The Dream's Allisha Gray had 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists, while Jordin Canada dished out a team-leading eight helpers to go with her 15 points.

The Liberty dropped their second straight game, and the reigning league champions fell to 2-5 over their last seven games as they continue to play without Jonquel Jones (ankle).

Breanna Stewart scored a team-high 21 points for New York. Natasha Cloud added 20, and Sabrina Ionescu had 14.
