'We've got a chance' – Bassey optimistic in Fulham's European push
Calvin Bassey insisted motivation remains as high as ever within Fulham's squad as he urged his team-mates to pull together to "achieve something great" this season.
Fulham are 11th in the Premier League ahead of welcoming relegation-threatened Burnley to Craven Cottage on Saturday, but have their eyes set on a spot in Europe.
Just four points separate Marco Silva's side and Brentford in seventh, though Bournemouth, Newcastle United and Everton are also in with a shout of a Conference League spot.
And though Fulham are without a win in their last three games in all competitions, including a shock fifth-round exit in the FA Cup to Southampton, Bassey remained optimistic.
"If you look at the last two or three seasons, we've been in and around it, and then the last four or five games it's sort of got away from us, [but] we're right there now," he said.
"We've got eight games left, and I feel like we can really push and achieve it. We're four points behind seventh, so it's all very close, that's why each game and point matters.
"We feel like we're so close to our goal. The atmosphere in the changing room is excitement, because we know we've got a chance to do something amazing, achieve something great, so we're just taking each game as it is."

Burnley, meanwhile, kept their slim hopes of Premier League survival alive by holding on to claim a goalless draw at home to Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth last time out.
There were 37 shots in the draw, the second-most without a goal being scored in a Premier League game this season, behind Nottingham Forest 0-0 Wolves in February (42).
Scott Parker's side had their chances, though, generating an expected goals (xG) total of 1.4 from their 15 shots, but Bournemouth had a 2.55 xG from a huge 22 attempts.
Burnley are given just a 0.4% chance of avoiding relegation by the Opta supercomputer, and Parker believes their stalemate with the Cherries was a missed opportunity.
"It was a big shift from the boys," Parker said. "We had big chances in that first half, and we didn’t manage to take them. The game ebbed and flowed in the second half.
"We gave everything but just lacked the clinical touch in front of goal. On reflection, we played well today.
"It's probably a fair result against a good, good side, but it feels like a missed opportunity."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Fulham – Harry Wilson
Wilson is Fulham's top scorer in the Premier League this season with nine goals. He could be just the second British player to reach double figures for the Cottagers in a single campaign, after Andrew Cole in 2004-05 (12).
He has been involved in 15 top-flight goals for Fulham this season (nine goals, six assists). The last Welsh player with more in a single campaign was Aaron Ramsey in 2013-14 (18).

Burnley – Kyle Walker
Of all opponents he's faced 10+ times in the Premier League, Walker has a higher win rate against Fulham than any other side (90% - 9/10).
His first goal in the competition also came against the Cottagers, back in February 2011 with Aston Villa.
MATCH PREDICTION: FULHAM WIN
Following their 3-2 win in December, Fulham are looking to complete the league double over Burnley for the first time since 1950-51.
Fulham have also lost just one of their last 14 Premier League games against promoted sides (W8 D5), going down 1-0 at Leeds United in January.
However, Silva's side lost 1-0 against West Ham and drew 0-0 with Forest in their last two Premier League games. They last went three without a goal in December 2023, a run which included a 2-0 home defeat to Burnley.
Burnley, meanwhile, have won three of their last four away league games against Fulham (L1), winning their last two visits by the same 2-0 scoreline.
But the Clarets have won just one of their last 21 Premier League games (D7 L13), though four of their 10 points in this run have come away against London sides (3-2 vs Crystal Palace, 1-1 vs Chelsea).
Burnley have kept just one clean sheet in their last 41 Premier League away games, conceding in each of their last 25 since a 2-0 win at Fulham in December 2023.
