Harry Kane's "investment" in England's World Cup qualifying campaign has thrilled Thomas Tuchel.

Kane scored a second-half double as England saw off Albania 2-0 on Sunday to cap a perfect qualifying campaign.

The Three Lions finished top of Group K with maximum points, having not conceded a single goal.

Kane finished with eight goals, as the 32-year-old took his overall tally of international strikes to 78, surpassing the total managed by Brazil great Pele (77).

"This is the cherry on top," Tuchel said of Kane surpassing Pele.

"The investment from Harry in these matches is outstanding. He is so invested in everything we do.

"He’s the same for Bayern Munich. He’s in a mindset and physical condition that is at the highest level.

"He produces goal after goal for us. The way he works, tracks back, finds solutions in offensive play is outstanding."

Since qualification for Euro 2020 started in 2019, Kane has scored 40 goals in qualifying matches for major tournaments (World Cup/Euros), more than any other European player.

England have won 11 consecutive competitive matches for the first time in their history, with the Three Lions to discover their fate for next year's tournament in the draw on December 5.
