'That's how you repay Carrick', says Tielemans after stunning Man Utd fightback
Youri Tielemans claimed all Manchester United's players can do is fight for Michael Carrick after their remarkable comeback against Roma.
United went into Tuesday's Champions League clash on the back of three straight defeats and a nine-game winless streak, which was their worst such run since 1988.
Michael Carrick has so far retained his place, but the pressure has been growing, and matters looked bleak when United fell 2-0 down by half-time at Old Trafford.
Yet the Red Devils surged back to a 3-2 victory, with Bruno Fernandes scoring a penalty at the second attempt, and Matheus Cunha then netting a late double.
Cunha was sent off in stoppage time, but United held out for a potentially vital victory.
Tielemans told Amazon Prime: "The turnaround was brilliant, big mentality. We just kept working, we kept believing. We were on the front foot in the second half.
"We tried to push them into their goal, and we succeeded."

Asked about Carrick, Tielemans said: "There has been a lot of pressure on him, and that's how we repay him, with a comeback like this, big character, big fight.
"That's a different question. The only thing we can do is stick behind him, fight for him and fight for the club.
"At the end of the day, we are on the pitch, and we need to show what we are capable of and, especially in the second half, we showed what we can do, and we turned up the gears.
"Let's hope this is a good turnaround for us and let's hope we can build on this."
No team have won more Champions League games from two or more goals behind than United, with this their fourth time doing so (Real Madrid also four).
United have won both of the last two Champions League home matches in which they have trailed by 2+ goals, also beating Atalanta 3-2 in October 2021, who were also coached by Gian Piero Gasperini.
"We know what we're capable of," said Kobbie Mainoo.
"We know we're a dangerous team, and we know we can change a game whenever; it's just it all coming together at the right time. Hopefully, we carry it on for the rest of the season."
