Slot: Wirtz will score many more goals for Liverpool
Arne Slot has no doubt Florian Wirtz will start racking up the goals after scoring for the first time as a Liverpool player.
Wirtz followed up Ryan Gravenberch's opener against Wolves on Saturday as part of a quickfire double before half-time, with the Reds holding on for a 2-1 win after Santiago Bueno halved the deficit early in the second half.
The Germany international, who was a club-record signing when he arrived from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported £116million fee, finally found the back of the net with his 21st shot (seventh on target) in the Premier League.
It continued a change in fortunes for Wirtz, who set up Alexander Isak's goal against Tottenham in his previous outing too.
"The team have seen how much he did already for us, creating chances and being so close to a goal," Slot told Sky Sports.
"Everyone in football knows if you don't score what is said about you. For him to score his first goal is nice, but it's only the start.
"With his qualities, he will go on and score many more goals than only one for us. I think Florian did more than only score today."

Wirtz completed seven of his nine dribbles, which has only been bettered by two players this season (Iliman Ndiaye – nine against Liverpool, Jeremy Doku – eight against Burnley).
"It was very nice, the feeling on the pitch with the fans around. I was very happy and I still am," said Wirtz
"I was confident that I would score one day. I wanted to start earlier scoring and assisting but it was like this and I have to accept it. I just know that it will come and I try to keep going like that.
"We want to be there and be on top of the table. It's not been an easy start for us but we're doing better and getting the points."
Liverpool have now won three successive Premier League games, earning more points than they accumulated in their prior 10 matches.
Wolves, meanwhile, set a new record for the worst start to a Premier League campaign, having picked up just two points after 18 matches.
Mateus Mane gave the visiting fans something to be excited about, with the 18-year-old impressing on his first start in the top flight.
"I thought he was excellent. His energy was brilliant, his running was brilliant," said Wolves boss Rob Edwards.
"He was brave, he took the ball. He's a real shining light in what is a difficult period for the club at the moment.
"He showed real desire to run and fight. Everything you'd want in a young footballer, he showed that today."
