'It's a fairytale' - Farrell thrilled with Lions' series win over Australia
Andy Farrell described the British and Irish Lions' last-gasp victory over Australia in the second Test to seal a series win as a "fairytale".
The Lions struggled in the first half but recovered brilliantly to seal a memorable 29-26 win, thanks to Hugo Keenan's last-minute try.
Jac Morgan's breakdown clearance against Harry Wilson had to be cleared by a late TMO review, but it was deemed within the rules, sparking the start of the Lions' celebrations.
The Lions had started four different series with a win this century, including this year (also 2001, 2013 and 2021), but this is the first time they have followed it up with a win in the second Test.
Farrell was thrilled with the team's fighting spirit, but most importantly, the win itself.
"It's fairytale stuff. To leave with a win like that — it means everything," he told Sky Sports.
"The lads have dreamed of being Lions all their lives. To win it at the end like that, it's a fairytale.
"It was never in doubt, was it?
"It's amazing — the occasion, the fans all travelling out here — they all deserve this, and that grandstand finish. This is what Lions rugby is all about. I'm absolutely delighted."
Not since 1927, on a tour of Argentina (4-0), have the Lions completed a clean sweep of a series, but that remains a possibility ahead of the third Test in Sydney.
They have now won all eight of their matches on Australian soil this year, and captain Maro Itoje says the Lions' aim is to sign off on a high note in the third Test.
"When we first met, Faz [Andy Farrell] made the call that we want to come out here and win," Itoje said.
"Don't get me wrong, we'll enjoy [the victory], but we want to win 3-0. Though it is a moment in your life you'll cherish."
