Iraola: Semenyo will play against Arsenal despite rumoured Man City move
Andoni Iraola confirmed that Antoine Semenyo will be available for Bournemouth's Premier League clash with Arsenal despite rumours of a January transfer to Manchester City.
Ahead of Bournemouth's 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Tuesday, reports emerged that Semenyo and City were edging closer to agreeing a £65million deal for the Cherries forward.
The 25-year-old has been a standout in the top-flight this season, registering 12 goal contributions (nine goals, three assists), a total only bettered by Erling Haaland (23).
Semenyo also played a crucial role in their chaotic stalemate at Stamford Bridge, with his two long throws leading to David Brooks and Justin Kluivert's first-half finishes.
Bournemouth are the third team to score two goals from throw-ins in an away Premier League match, along with Sheffield United in October 1993 and Bolton Wanderers in August 2011.
But when asked whether that was the last time Semenyo would play in a Bournemouth shirt, Iraola replied: "No, it's not. Yes, he will play this weekend."
On the pitch, however, Bournemouth have now gone 10 Premier League games in a row without a win within a single season for the first time (D5 L5).
It started well for the visitors when Brooks bundled home in the sixth minute, only for Semenyo to tangle with Estevao inside the penalty area, allowing Cole Palmer to equalise from the spot.
Enzo Fernandez then marked his 100th Premier League appearance with a 23rd-minute stunner, but the Cherries quickly responded when Kluivert tucked home at the back post.

But Bournemouth's lapses in concentration, particularly in the first half, will be the biggest of Iraola's concerns, having seen his team look threatening in the final third.
In the first half, the Cherries had 14 shots, their most ever in the opening 45 minutes of a Premier League away game, but they managed just three more after the break.
Bournemouth have now drawn four of their last five league games, though Iraola said he would have been happy to take a point back to the south coast before a ball was kicked.
"This is probably one point we would've taken before the game. Chelsea away is a difficult game," Iraola added.
"I do think we should be winning the first half because we played very well. I don't think finishing the first half at 2-2 was fair.
"We didn't have as many chances in the second half, and we had to defend a little bit lower, but we did that well. I think the clearest chances tonight were for us.
"For me, we played better in the first half, but also in the second half we defended well.
"The problem is that we were doing a lot of things to get one point against Chelsea and one point against Manchester United, which in the end doesn't give you a lot.
"We do have to value every point though, because the standings are so close and every point is valuable.
"We have drawn four of our last five games. One point doesn't give you a lot, but we have been competitive. I hope we continue this because things don't get easier from here."
