Pep Guardiola is only looking as far ahead as West Ham, claiming Manchester City's Premier League title push will be over if they drop any more points.

City were twice pegged back in a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest last time out in the Premier League, and they suffered a 3-0 loss to Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie on Wednesday.

The second leg against Madrid will take place at the Etihad Stadium next week, but Guardiola's focus is back on the league, with his side sitting seven points behind leaders Arsenal.

With the Gunners playing before City, that gap could be up to 10 by kick-off at the London Stadium, and Guardiola highlighted the importance of not letting their minds wander past the task in front of them.

When asked if he felt the 3-0 scoreline against Madrid would be possible to overcome, Guardiola said: "West Ham. Now is West Ham.

"These kind of games it is hard. For many plans you have, it doesn't happen. You play the game you have to play, and after the game, will dictate whether you have a chance or not. It is difficult, yes.

"Not much dollars in the bank for us, but we will see. Now is West Ham.

"The Premier League is the most difficult title, the Premier League, I believe, is the most difficult one, and still we are there knowing that if we drop points, it will be over."

West Ham, meanwhile, are in a fight at the other end of the table, as they sit 18th, only inside the relegation zone due to having an inferior goal difference to Forest.

However, with Vitor Pereira's side not playing until Sunday, a resurgent West Ham would move out of the drop zone if they avoid defeat.

The Hammers have lost just one of their last five league games (W2 D2), coming into this game after beating Fulham in their last Premier League outing, and Nuno Espirito Santo hailed the team's spirit.

"The togetherness, the unity has been amazing, realising that everyone is needed and must give their best," he said.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

West Ham – Jarrod Bowen

Four of Crysencio Summerville's five Premier League goals this season have put West Ham 1-0 ahead. However, he will be missing for this game with a calf injury.

West Ham will hope Jarrod Bowen can regain his scoring touch; he provided his fifth assist of the campaign to set up Summerville's winner against Fulham, but has not hit the back of the net himself since January 31 against Chelsea.

Manchester City – Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland has scored more top-flight goals against West Ham than any other opponent (11).

He has netted at least twice in his last three against the Hammers – only Michael Owen against Newcastle (1998-2001) and Harry Kane against Everton (2017-2018) have scored two or more goals in four consecutive Premier League games against an opponent.

MATCH PREDICTION: MANCHESTER CITY WIN

West Ham are winless in 20 Premier League matches against Man City (D3 L17), since a 2-1 win in September 2015. It is their longest ever winless league run against an opponent.

Only against Fulham (a current run of 22) and Newcastle United (22 between 2006 and 2018) have City had a longer unbeaten run in their league history.

West Ham have never beaten City at the London Stadium in the Premier League in nine attempts (D2 L7) – they have only faced Brighton as often without winning there (D7 L2).

City have lost just one of their last 17 Premier League games (W11 D5), going down 2-0 to Manchester United in January. However, the Citizens have dropped eight points from winning positions in that run thanks to draws with Chelsea, Brighton, Tottenham and Forest.

Meanwhile, following a 1-0 win over Fulham last time out, West Ham are looking to win consecutive Premier League games for the third time this season, previously doing so in November (v Newcastle and Burnley) and January (v Spurs and Sunderland).
