Red Bull have confirmed Isack Hadjar will remain in place as Max Verstappen's team-mate for 2027, having extended his contract with the team.

After spending his rookie season with Racing Bulls in 2025, finishing 12th in the Formula One drivers' championship, Hadjar was promoted to the senior team this year.

A wrist injury suffered during last month's summer break has caused him to miss the last three races, but he is fit to return in Azerbaijan this weekend, and he enters the race eighth in the drivers' standings.

Hadjar's lone podium finish this year came at the Monaco Grand Prix, and he has not placed lower than sixth at any of the last seven races he has completed. 

Hadjar's extension comes off the back of four-time world champion Verstappen agreeing fresh terms with the team last month, with the Dutchman's deal now running until 2030.

The 21-year-old said: "I am really excited to continue with Oracle Red Bull Racing. I came to this team eight months ago and immediately understood the scale and ambition of this organisation.

"I'm constantly looking to listen, learn and push myself further every single day about what lies ahead."

Hadjar has 71 points on the board this season – putting him 49 adrift of Oscar Piastri, who is seventh in the standings – and 74 behind Verstappen in sixth.
