Furyk confirmed as Team USA's Ryder Cup captain for 2027
Team USA have confirmed Jim Furyk will return to captain the team for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in Limerick.
Furyk becomes one of only four US captains to have led the team on multiple occasions since 1979, after Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson and Davis Love III.
Tiger Woods turned down the role earlier this month after he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after rolling his car in Florida.
But 55-year-old Furyk will now replace Keegan Bradley in trying to lead Team USA after back-to-back defeats in Rome and New York.
Furyk brings huge Ryder Cup experience to the table, having been involved in every US Ryder Cup team for the past 30 years, even captaining them at the 2018 edition in Paris.
The 2003 US Open champion has also been a vice-captain in 2016, 2021, 2023 and 2025, and he is looking to make history on enemy turf.
"The opportunity to captain the US Ryder Cup team for a second time is a tremendous honour," Furyk said.
"I am committed to putting our players in the best position to succeed as we work to reclaim the cup on European soil."

Team USA have not won a Ryder Cup in Europe since captain Watson's team won 15-13 at The Belfry in England in 1993.
The players on that team included rookie Love III, Fred Couples, Payne Stewart, Lanny Wadkins and Raymond Floyd.
Europe retained the Ryder Cup at Bethpage in New York in September, which was the first time either side had won away from home since the 'Miracle of Medinah' in 2012.
Luke Donald, who led Europe to last year's victory, will attempt to be the first captain to win three successive Ryder Cups after also being confirmed for the 2027 edition.
