Francis returns to Wales squad for Six Nations
Back prop Tomas Francis has been called up by Steve Tandy for Wales’ Six Nations squad.
Francis has not featured on the international stage since appearing at the 2023 World Cup, where Wales were defeated by Argentina in the quarter-finals.
He has played in 77 internationals, helping Wales win the Six Nations in 2019 and 2021, while also appearing at the 2015, 2019 and 2023 World Cups.
Josh McLeod, Sam Costelow and Mason Grady also return to the squad for the upcoming competition, while Dewi Lake will captain the team again in the absence of injured flanker Jac Morgan.
Tandy has also named two uncapped players as Leicester wing Gabriel Hamer-Webb and Bath centre Louie Hennessey are both included in his squad.
Wales have lost each of their last 11 matches in the Six Nations since a win over Italy in March 2023, but they will be hoping to end that run when they open their campaign against England on February 7.
“There are a few changes to the squad from the autumn, some due to injury, but others are a sign of the competition there is and how many players we have in the mix, which is a real positive,” said Tandy.
