Ferrari boss Vasseur eyes improvement during one month break
Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur is keen to see improvements ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, despite their positive start to the 2026 Formula One season.
Ferrari are currently second in the constructors' standings, trailing Mercedes by 45 points but also 44 clear of third-place McLaren.
Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are third and fourth respectively in the drivers' championship, with just eight points separating the Ferrari duo.
Leclerc secured a podium finish at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday, while Hamilton finished sixth as Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli won at Suzuka.
Following the cancellations of the Saudi Arabian and Bahrain Grand Prix, the next race on the calendar takes place on May 3 in Miami.
With over a month until the next event on schedule, Vasseur identified where he believes Ferrari can improve to close the gap on Mercedes.
"I think it was overall a good weekend with a fantastic drive from Charles over the last couple of laps, keeping [George] Russell behind," Vasseur said.
A solid P3 for Leclerc at Suzuka!

"He was a bit unlucky like George with the Safety Car, but overall it was a strong performance.
"Now we have one month in front of us to come back a bit stronger before Miami. It’s good to score points and always be there to [stay on] the path of the Championship because it’s important for the rest of the season.
"It was clear that we have a deficit of performance in a straight line – they were complaining a lot, but it is like it is. We have room for improvement."
