Adam Duvall hit three home runs as the Atlanta Braves made history in MLB, while the Tampa Bay Rays enjoyed a win.

Duvall went deep three times as the Braves beat the Boston Red Sox 7-5 on Wednesday.

Incredibly, it came a day after team-mate Marcell Ozuna achieved the same feat for the Braves.

They joined Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig (1930) as the only team-mates in MLB history to have three-homer games on back-to-back days, and they are the first to do it in back-to-back games, as per STATS.

Duvall went three-for-four with five RBIs as the Braves improved to 22-14.

The Rays pulled further clear of the New York Yankees in the American League (AL) East after a 5-2 victory.

Mike Brosseau crushed two home runs and had three RBIs as the Rays moved 4.5 games clear.

 

Hader sets record as Votto walks it off

Josh Hader set an MLB record by making a 12th straight hitless appearance to begin the season in the Milwaukee Brewers 8-5 win over the Detroit Tigers. He earned his ninth save of the season.

On his return from a hand injury, Walker Buehler struck out six over five innings, conceding just two hits as the Los Angeles Dodgers overcame the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2.

Zack Wheeler is now 4-0 this season. He struck out six and gave up just three hits in 6.2 innings as the Philadelphia Phillies shut out the Washington Nationals 3-0.

 

Montgomery dominated

Yankees pitcher Jordan Montgomery did not get through an inning. He gave up two home runs, four runs and five hits in the loss to the Rays.

 

Mookie keeps Dodgers alive

With the Dodgers facing defeat against the Diamondbacks, Mookie Betts hit a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth inning before his team went on to win.

Mike Clevinger (1-1, 3.18 ERA) will make his first appearance for the San Diego Padres (23-15) against the Los Angeles Angels (12-25) on Thursday. Clevinger was traded to the Padres by the Cleveland Indians in a blockbuster move on Monday.
