Celtic 3-1 Rangers (aet): McGregor and Osmand book League Cup final spot and seal bragging rights
Celtic booked their place in the Scottish League Cup final with a 3-1 extra-time victory over 10-man Rangers at Hampden Park on Sunday.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Rangers had fought back to force the extra half an hour, but it proved a step too far for Danny Rohl's side, who conceded in each half of the added period.
Celtic thought they had taken a 19th-minute lead after a mix-up at the back saw Nasser Djiga clear Daizen Maeda's cross against Nicolas Raskin to send it looping in, but the Japanese winger had been offside in the build-up.
Youssef Chermiti then blazed a glorious opportunity wide at the other end, and Rangers were made to pay for that miss as Johnny Kenny glanced Arne Engels' corner past Jack Butland just moments later.
And Rohl's side were given a mountain to climb after Thelo Aasgaard was shown a straight red card in the 38th minute for a reckless lunging tackle on Anthony Ralston.
Butland kept Rangers in the game with a fine double save before James Forrest rattled the crossbar, but the 'Gers were gifted their opportunity for an equaliser through Ralston’s handball, with James Tavernier confidently converting from the penalty spot.
Celtic were back in front just three minutes into extra time, though, with Callum McGregor rifling a stunning long-range effort beyond Butland.
And both he and Kasper Schmeichel kept the game on a knife-edge with stunning saves before Celtic eventually clinched the victory when Callum Osmand slid in to poke Kieran Tierney's cross into the net to send the Bhoys to the final.

Data Debrief: Celtic dull Rangers' fight
Martin O'Neill is no stranger to this rivalry from his first stint in charge of Celtic, when he won 16 and drew three of his 27 Glasgow derbies in charge.
And Celtic's dominance eventually told – they had 22 shots to Rangers' 12, though Rohl's side only had four on target.
It is a second consecutive win for O'Neill since returning to Celtic to replace Brendan Rodgers, and this one sets up a showpiece against St. Mirren in December.
