Celtic claimed their first win under Wilfried Nancy, after two late goals secured a 3-1 victory over 10-man Aberdeen.

Kieran Tierney and James Forrest ended the Hoops' run of four straight defeats in all competitions, while closing the gap on Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts to six points.

Celtic broke the deadlock six minutes before half-time when Benjamin Nygren slotted home from Daizen Maeda's cutback.

Maeda was then involved as the visitors were reduced to 10 men in first-half stoppage time, as Dylan Lobban was shown a straight red card for hauling him down and denying a goalscoring opportunity.

Celtic struck the woodwork three times after the break and were made to pay in the 74th minute, with Kjartan Kjartansson finding fellow substitute Kenan Bilalovic, who beat Kasper Schmeichel to equalise.

However, the hosts regained their advantage with two minutes remaining, as Tierney headed in Colby Donovan's inviting cross, while Forrest's close-range finish sealed the points in stoppage time.

Data Debrief: Unlucky 13 for Aberdeen

Celtic are now unbeaten in each of their last 33 meetings with Aberdeen (W26 D7), stretching back to a 1-0 defeat in May 2018.

The Dons, meanwhile, have lost 36 of their last 39 league visits to Celtic Park (W1 D2), going winless in each of their most recent 13.

Celtic produced a strong attacking performance, registering 31 shots on goal – their highest in a single league match this season.

And the Hoops have now scored 10 goals in the last 15 minutes of matches this term, more than any other team in the Scottish Premiership.
