Burnley know time is running out in relegation battle, says Worrall
Burnley defender Joe Worrall insisted the team know time is running out in the Premier League relegation battle as they look to build on their recent results.
The Clarets are 19th in the English top-flight, eight points off 17th-place Nottingham Forest with 11 games to go.
Scott Parker's side have gained some momentum in recent weeks, following up a 3-2 turnaround victory against Crystal Palace with a late 1-1 draw at Chelsea on the weekend.
Worrall believes those results came from Burnley's desire to stay up as they prepare to host Brentford on Saturday.
"We are getting there, you're just very conscious in the back of your mind that we've not got a lot of games to rectify the situation," said Worrall.
"But if you go off the back of Palace away, Chelsea away, and you say we're going to get four points – we'd snap your hand off.
"The way we've played is a testament to the work we've been doing behind-the-scenes. I know it might seem frustrating at times, and I feel for the fans, they expect more.
"But at the same time, I just want to reiterate that we are pushing and trying and doing things the right way. The last two results in the league have shown that.
"We are where we are and we know that we really have to have a really good go at it the last 10 games.
"What's gone is gone and we're just looking forward to building on these last two games."

Brentford's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League took a blow last time out as they lost 2-0 at home to Brighton.
Diego Gomez and Danny Welbeck both scored before half-time, condemning the Bees to their first defeat in four league games.
Brentford midfielder Mathias Jensen could not explain why their performance was poor, but believes it must stop happening across the season.
"We're disappointed, obviously," said the midfielder. "I don't think we deserved any more than that.
"For some reason, it was a bit flat and the energy was a bit low.
"But also they played well – they picked up good positions, and it was hard for us to get into the right pressure, like we usually do.
"Unfortunately, there have been a few games this season where it's just not quite worked, and we're not doing well enough."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Burnley – Zian Flemming
No Burnley player has scored more Premier League goals this season than Zian Flemming (six).
However, all six of his strikes have come away from home, making him the highest scorer not to score at home in the competition this term.
Brentford – Igor Thiago
Igor Thiago has scored 17 Premier League goals for Brentford this season, with only Erling Haaland scoring more in 2025-26 (22).
However, the Brazilian has scored just once since January 7, a penalty against Newcastle United at St. James Park.
MATCH PREDICTION – BRENTFORD WIN
Brentford have won three of their last four league games against Burnley (L1) and are looking to complete the league double over the Clarets for just the second time after 1934-35.
The Bees have also won 10 of their last 12 Premier League games against promoted sides, though the two exceptions have come in their last four matches (1-2 versus Sunderland in August, 1-1 against Leeds United in December).
Keith Andrews' side have won four of their last five Premier League away games (L1), more than they had in their previous 13 (W3 D2 L8).
However, Burnley have lost just one of their last 12 home league games against Brentford (W7 D4), winning each of the last three in a row (including both Premier League meetings).
Burnley (14.7%) and Brentford (14.5%) are the two teams with the highest long pass percentage in the Premier League this season. Burnley made 79 long passes in this season's reverse fixture between these two sides; the most by any team in a game in 2025-26 (Brentford with 42).
OPTA WIN PROBABILITY
Burnley – 26.1%
Draw – 23.5%
