Jannik Sinner overcame Alex De Minaur in straight sets to reach the ATP Finals showpiece for the third consecutive year and give himself the chance to defend his title.

The Italian had to overcome a very tight first set but claimed a 7-5 6-2 win in one hour and 53 minutes to set up a meeting with either Carlos Alcaraz or Felix Auger-Aliassime on Sunday.

There was little to split the pair at the start of the first set, with De Minaur having to defend two break points in the first game, before failing to convert three in the next.

The Australian had to hold off a further five break points in the first set before Sinner eventually found the edge in the 11th game of the set, effectively turning the semi-final in his favour.

After serving out the first set, Sinner then won the first four games of the second, with De Minaur struggling to gain any sort of foothold.

The world number seven, making his first appearance in the final four of the tournament, did pull two games back, but it was too little, too late for a fightback, with Sinner serving out the match on his second attempt.

Data Debrief: Sinner stays perfect in Turin

Sinner is still yet to drop a set at the ATP Finals in 2025, and is the third player to reach the final without conceding sets in consecutive years, after John McEnroe (1982-83) and Ivan Lendl (1982-83, 1985-86).

Since the event's inauguration in 1970, Sinner is just the third player under 25 to reach at least three consecutive finals at the ATP Finals, after Lendl and Roger Federer.

And, he is also the third player to reach the final at all four grand slam events and the ATP Finals in a single season, after Federer (2006-07) and Novak Djokovic (2015, 2023) – Sinner is the youngest of the group to achieve the feat.
