Alpine confirm Doohan departure ahead of 2026 F1 season
Jack Doohan is no longer a part of Alpine after the Renault-owned Formula One team confirmed they had parted ways with the Australian on Tuesday.
Doohan replaced Esteban Ocon and made an earlier than anticipated debut at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, qualifying 20th before finishing 15th in the race.
The 22-year-old partnered Pierre Gasly for the new campaign, but his first season in the sport lasted just six races before he was replaced by Franco Colapinto.
During his time behind the wheel, Doohan suffered two retirements, with his best race finish coming at the Chinese Grand Prix, when he took the chequered flag in 13th.
Doohan was then demoted to the role of reserve driver as Colapinto came in, but the Argentine failed to score a single point across his 18 races for the team.

"BWT Alpine Formula One Team confirms it has reached a mutual agreement with Jack Doohan to not continue his driving services with the team for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship season and allow him to pursue other career opportunities," the team said in a statement.
"Jack became the first member of the Alpine Academy to graduate into a race seat with the team when he made his Grand Prix debut at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
"The team would like to thank Jack for his commitment and professionalism to the team for the past four years, both on and off track, and wishes him all the best for the future.
Despite Colapinto's underwhelming points tally, he has been kept on for the 2026 season, which begins at the Australian Grand Prix at the start of March.
Alpine endured a miserable campaign last year, registering just 22 points across 24 races, finishing bottom of the Constructors' Championship by 48 points.
