Abreu inspires White Sox, Astros rally past Dodgers

Jose Abreu continued his stellar MLB season on Saturday, while the Houston Astros produced a huge comeback.

Abreu went four-for-four with two home runs and seven RBIs in the Chicago White Sox's 14-0 thrashing of the Detroit Tigers.

The first baseman is hitting .319 this season with 15 homers and a league-high 47 RBIs.

Abreu is the third White Sox player with at least 15 homers and 45 RBIs in his first 45 games of the season, joining Frank Thomas (1994) and Zeke Bonura (1934), according to STATS.

Trailing the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 heading into the eighth inning, the Astros responded to win 7-5.

It included a five-run ninth inning as an RBI single from Alex Bregman and Yuli Gurriel's sacrifice fly completed the comeback.

 

Yankees extend winning streak as Anderson stars

The New York Yankees won a fourth straight game with a 2-1 walk-off victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Luke Voit hit a sac fly in the bottom of the 10th.

Atlanta Braves rookie Ian Anderson starred. He struck out nine and conceded just one hit in seven innings in a 2-1 victory over the Washington Nationals.

Tyler Glasnow produced a fine start for the Tampa Bay Rays. He pitched seven innings and struck out seven in a 5-4 success against the Boston Red Sox.

 

Williams' woes continue

Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams dropped to 1-7 this season. He gave up 10 hits and six runs in five innings in a 7-4 loss to the Kansas City Royals.
