‘A good point but not enough’ – Iraola rues missed chances as Bournemouth held by Villa
Andoni Iraola admitted Bournemouth's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa felt like a missed opportunity, stating the point was "good but not enough for us".
The Cherries were the better side for much of the match at the Vitality Stadium, despite going down a goal in the 22nd minute as Morgan Rogers fired Villa into the lead against the run of play.
The Cherries went close on a number of occasions, mainly through Junior Kroupi and Alex Scott, before 19-year-old new arrival Rayan drew them level in style in the second half.
Iraola’s side pushed hard for a winner but were staunchly denied by a superb performance in goal by Emiliano Martinez, who twice denied Ryan Christie late on to frustrate the hosts.
"It's a good point for us. [But] Looking at how the game has evolved it's not enough," Iraola told BBC Sport.
"Before the game maybe you'd take a point. After the game I cannot be completely satisfied. We were the better team today.
"We had good chances. Martinez played a good game. We’ve done enough to win. We'd like to score a second one.
"I told the players at half-time we're playing very well even though we were behind. We have to play the same way. It was just a matter of time."

Despite settling for a draw, the result extended Bournemouth's unbeaten Premier League run to five matches.
Since the turn of the year, only Manchester United (14) and Chelsea (13) have collected more league points than the Cherries' 11 (W3 D2 L1).
Iraola was also full of praise for Rayan, who has enjoyed a fine start to his Premier League career, having assisted on debut against Wolves before scoring his first goal in his first start at the Vitality Stadium.
"He's an amazing player,” Iraola added. “Rayan can go inside or outside. When there's space he can go one against one.
"It's really difficult for the defender. He's finished it really well. But he's still a young player who needs to improve some things."
At just 19 years and 188 days, Rayan became the youngest South American player to either score or assist in each of his first two Premier League appearances and the sixth different player from the continent to do so.
