Wales call up Plumtree as Six Nations injury problems mount
Warren Gatland has called up back row Taine Plumtree to Wales' Six Nations squad amid ongoing injury concerns to Owen Watkin and Aaron Wainwright.
Plumtree is set to join the squad in Nice before they travel to face Italy in Rome next Saturday. Prop WillGriff John will also link up with Wales at their training camp after recovering from a head injury.
Watkin and Wainwright both suffered serious-looking injuries in Wales' thumping 43-0 loss to France in their Six Nations opener last Friday.
Watkin was stretchered off the field and left the Stade de France on crutches, with Gatland suggesting after the game that he may have suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) problem.
Meanwhile, Wainwright sustained a facial injury in the fourth minute but has not suffered a concussion or facial fracture.

Despite featuring in Wales' autumn series, Plumtree was initially left out of the squad. However, he will now act as cover for number eight, with Taulupe Faletau, the other specialist in that position, missing the last game due to a knee injury.
Wales are currently on a run of 13 consecutive losses and are bidding to stop that from extending to 14 against Italy.
