Star guard Trae Young is expected to make his debut with the Washington Wizards this week after leaving the Atlanta Hawks in a blockbuster trade earlier this season.

Young, who was traded to Washington on Jan. 9, is expected to play in a Wizards uniform for the first time on Thursday against the Utah Jazz after he posted a picture of himself in team gear to social media on Monday, ending his caption with “3/5,” referring to March 5.

Young has played just 10 games this season due to right knee and right quadriceps injuries.

Washington coach Brian Keefe said later Monday that Young was trending toward playing limited minutes on Thursday against the Jazz.

Young, a four-time All-Star, is averaging 19.3 points and 8.9 assists this season.

The Wizards were among the NBA’s most active teams in the month leading up to the trade deadline, adding veterans Young and Anthony Davis to a rebuilding roster. Davis has also yet to play for Washington, sidelined by a hand injury.

Some pundits have wondered whether Young or Davis would play the rest of the season, with the 16-44 Wizards hoping to land a top lottery pick in June’s draft, but general manager Will Dawkins has insisted that the team intends to see Young and Davis on the court together before the end of the season.
