The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without Anthony Edwards for one-to-two weeks after an MRI of the All-Star guard’s right knee revealed inflammation.

Edwards ranks third in the NBA with a career-high 29.5 points per game and is averaging 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals.

He’s also shooting career bests of 49.2 per cent from the field and 40.2 per cent from three-point range in 58 games this season.

The Timberwolves (41-27) entered Tuesday’s NBA action in sixth place in the Western Conference, but they are just two games behind the third-place Los Angeles Lakers.

Minnesota has been struggling lately with four losses in five games following a 13-4 stretch.

The first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Edwards was selected as the MVP of last month’s All-Star Game after leading the USA Stars to the championship in the first version of the midseason showcase to feature a round-robin tournament.
