New Zealand and Pakistan's Super 8 match at the T20 World Cup has been abandoned without a ball being bowled in Colombo.
Both teams will receive a point in their group, which also features England and co-hosts Sri Lanka, who face off on Sunday afternoon.
There was some optimism that play would occur when the captains met in the middle for the toss, where Pakistan decided to bat after winning the coin flip, but the rain was unrelenting at the R Premadasa Stadium.
Pakistan are back in action next on February 24 against England, while New Zealand face Sri Lanka a day later.
New Zealand and Pakistan share points after rain has the final say in the first #T20WorldCup Super 8 contest.
