Stroll cleared to race at Canadian Grand Prix after successful operation
Aston Martin have confirmed that Lance Stroll is fit to compete at his home grand prix in Canada this weekend.
Stroll, who is 12th in the drivers' championship with 14 points after nine races this season, missed the Spanish Grand Prix after experiencing pain in his hands.
Aston Martin revealed Stroll's withdrawal in Spain late on Saturday. The following morning, it was said the 26-year-old had lost his temper in the team's garage.
Stroll was said to have damaged equipment after being eliminated in the second qualifying session, in which he was 0.535 seconds slower than team-mate Fernando Alonso.
An Aston Martin source later denied anything was broken, or that Stroll swore at colleagues.
"Lance had a successful medical procedure to resolve the symptoms he has been experiencing and completed some laps in an old F1 car at Paul Ricard earlier this week," a statement said.
"Lance is feeling fit and healthy, and is excited to compete in front of his home crowd."
"The support from fans has always pushed me on, but it's been extra motivation over the last couple of weeks."@lance_stroll lifts the lid on his recovery from surgery, why the support from fans means so much to him, and Grand Prix number 100.

Stroll was quoted saying: "I am excited to get back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend.
"I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd. I'm feeling good after my procedure."
Stroll's availability comes as a relief for Aston Martin, who find themselves down in ninth in the constructors' championship.
If Stroll was unable to compete, the team's reserve drivers, Felipe Drugovich and Stoffel Vandoorne, were both racing at Le Mans this weekend.
