St. Mirren 0-1 Rangers: Rommens keeps Rohl's side in pursuit of Hearts
Rangers moved within three points of Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts after Tuur Rommens' strike proved the difference in Sunday's 1-0 win away at St. Mirren.
Danny Rohl's side remain third in the table, just one point behind second-placed Celtic and with Hearts in striking distance after the leaders lost to Kilmarnock a day earlier.
Rangers controlled the opening proceedings before Nicolas Raskin's delightful delivery found Rommens, who lost his marker and converted in the 31st minute for his first goal for the club.
Youssef Chermiti then somehow volleyed wide from close range before half-time, with an opportunity that should have put the visitors out of sight.
The away side did not let up in the second half either, with St. Mirren goalkeeper Shamal George denying both Ryan Naderi and James Tavernier.
Mark O'Hara had a chance to level but scuffed a presentable opening as managerless St. Mirren failed to mount a comeback.

Data Debrief: Rommens has Rangers on a Rohl
Rohl will have been satisfied with Rangers' showing, even if it lacked a clinical edge. They amassed a massive 2.36 expected goals (xG) to St. Mirren's meagre 0.24.
And while Rommens grabbed the winning goal, he also led the way with a team-leading five chances created.
Optimism may be growing, too, given Rangers are unbeaten in their last 13 league games (W9 D4), their longest run since going 17 without defeat from November 2022 to April 2023.
