Sinner storms into first Monte-Carlo final after victory over Zverev
Jannik Sinner booked his place in the Monte-Carlo Masters final after needing one hour and 22 minutes to defeat third seed Alexander Zverev.
Sinner came out on top in his 13th meeting with Zverev, improving his record against the German thanks to a 6-1 6-4 victory on Court Rainier III on Saturday.
The four-time grand slam winner remains on course for another blockbuster meeting with Carlos Alcaraz, who faces home hero Valentin Vacherot for a place in Sunday's showpiece.
Sinner set the tone for his triumph by breaking Zverev in the opening game of the match, going on to reel off the first four games to take a commanding lead early on.
And though Zverev eventually found his feet, a love service game put Sinner in front, though the Italian was put through his paces in the second set in order to get the job done.
The pair traded blows throughout, but Sinner eventually got the better of Zverev's serve in what proved to be the final game of the match, sealing his progression to the final with his first match point.

Data Debrief: Sweet 16 for sensational Sinner
Sinner has been in imperious form to start the 2026 season, with his Sunshine Double victory at Indian Wells and the Miami Open giving him a huge confidence boost, which he has taken into the European clay-court swing.
His victory here saw him become the first player to win his first 16 ATP-1000 matches of the season since Novak Djokovic in 2015 (25), while he has now reached his 12th ATP-1000 final, a total only Djokovic (60) can better among active players.
And since the ATP-1000 format introduction in 1990, Sinner is the fourth player to reach the final of Indian Wells, Miami and Monte-Carlo in a single season, after Roger Federer (2006), Rafael Nadal (2011) and Djokovic (2015).
