Sinner starts with dominant Dzumhur victory in Miami
Jannik Sinner launched his Miami Open campaign with a comfortable straight-sets victory over Damir Dzumhur.
The world number two took just 70 minutes to wrap up a 6-3 6-3 win against his Bosnian opponent at Hard Rock Stadium.
Fresh from his Indian Wells triumph six days earlier, Sinner was strong on serve and excelled at the net as he registered his 12th successive straight-sets victory at ATP Masters 1000 events.
The four-time major champion, who is bidding to complete the 'Sunshine Double', subsequently set up a third-round clash with 30th seed Corentin Moutet.
"I try to improve as a player and put myself in the position to play as many matches as possible," he said. "I always treat every opponent in the same way, trying to come on court and do my best with a great attitude and trying to go for it.
"For me, the transition game is very important. It's a part that we've tried to improve a lot. It also depends a bit, day by day. Starting off with a break straight away, I tried to be a bit aggressive.
“At times, it worked very well; at times I made a couple of unforced errors. But I didn't have a lot of time to adjust here. It's very different from in Indian Wells. First-round matches are never easy, so I'm happy."

Data Debrief: Sinner surpasses and matches Djokovic
Sinner is the first player to record 12 consecutive straight-set wins in ATP Masters 1000 events, surpassing Novak Djokovic's 11 between Indian Wells and Miami in 2016.
The Italian also tied the 24-time major champion for the most successive sets won at this level (24), and he will be looking to break that record in the next round.
Sinner dropped just eight points on serve throughout the contest, while winning 14 out of 17 points at the net.
