SGA breaks Wilt's NBA record for consecutive games with at least 20 points
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stands alone in NBA history for consecutive games scoring at least 20 points.
The Thunder superstar broke Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain's record, extending his streak to 127 in Oklahoma City's 104-102 victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday in a matchup of the last two NBA champions.
Gilgeous-Alexander set the record with 7:04 remaining in the third quarter when he drained a long jumper from a step inside the 3-point line for his 20th and 21st points.
The reigning league MVP finished with 35 points, nine assists, six rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals.

His streak began on November 1, 2024, when he scored 30 in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers after he finished with 18 points two days earlier. Chamberlain set his record from 1961-63.
Gilgeous-Alexander's final basket came with 30 seconds to play, when he drilled a jumper to put the Thunder up 102-100.
Just seven seconds later, Jaylen Brown answered with a jump shot of his own to tie things up, and it appeared the game would go to overtime when Alex Caruso missed a 3-pointer in the waning seconds, but Chet Holmgren was fouled on a rebound with 0.9 seconds remaining.
He then made both free throws to send the NBA-best Thunder (52-15) to a seventh straight win. Holmgren finished with 14 points and nine boards.
Brown scored 34 for the Celtics (43-23), who rested Jayson Tatum after he played in the previous three games in his return from surgery on his right Achilles tendon.

Luka Dončić had his highest-scoring game in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform, pouring in 51 points in a 142-130 win over the Chicago Bulls.
Dončić connected on a career high-tying nine 3-pointers on 14 attempts, and added 10 rebounds and nine assists as the Lakers won their fourth in a row.

Austin Reaves contributed 20 points, Deandre Ayton had 23 points and 10 rebounds and LeBron James had 18 points, seven boards and seven assists in 33 minutes in his return to the lineup after missing three games because of a right hip contusion and arthritis in his left foot.
Los Angeles (41-25) has won seven of eight and moved ahead of the idle Houston Rockets for third place in the Western Conference.
Josh Giddey led Chicago (27-39) with 27 points, 15 assists and eight rebounds and Matas Buzelis had 22 points.
Neither team played much defence, as the Lakers shot 54.5 per cent from the field and the Bulls shot 53.1 per cent overall.
Nuggets storm back to beat Spurs team playing without Wembanyama
For more than three quarters, it appeared the San Antonio Spurs would be able to extend their winning streak despite Victor Wembanyama sitting out.
In the fourth quarter, the Denver Nuggets had other ideas.
The Nuggets rallied from 20 points down for a stunning 136-131 victory to snap the Spurs' winning streak at five games.
Jamal Murray scored 39 and Nikola Jokić added 31 points, 20 rebounds and 12 assists as Denver (41-26) outscored San Antonio 42-25 in the fourth quarter for its second straight win following a 2-4 stretch.

With Wembanyama sidelined due to right ankle soreness, the Spurs (48-18) lost for just the second time in 18 games.
Wembanyama was coming off a 39-point performance in Tuesday's 125-116 win over the Celtics, and sat out for the first time since January 3 after playing in San Antonio's previous 30 games.
Stephon Castle stepped up with 30 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for his third career triple-double. However, he missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining.
