Red Bull to be patient in deciding 2026 driver lineup, says team principal Mekies
Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies insisted that Red Bull will "take a bit more time" in deciding their driver lineup for 2026.
Max Verstappen's place in the team for next season has already been confirmed, but it is unclear whether Yuki Tsunoda will continue on as his team-mate.
Tsunoda, who replaced Liam Lawson at Red Bull just two races into the campaign, has only scored 28 points this season to the New Zealander's 30.
The Japanese driver's best race this season came at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where he finished sixth, before he also came in at seventh in the recent United States Grand Prix.
The future Racing Bulls pair of Lawson and Isack Hadjar is also up in the air, but Mekies revealed the team are in no rush to make a decision on the matter.
After the Mexico City Grand Prix, which saw Tsunoda narrowly miss out on the points due to a slow pit stop, Mekies said: "I think it's on our side, we left him out a bit longer because there was an advantage for us to do that.
"We had a slightly long pit stop, so we killed a few points that he would have scored on merit.
"Of course, it's one of the reasons why we want to take a bit more time before we make a decision on drivers.

"Yuki is making steps forward, the other kids are making steps forward as well, so we have no reason to rush a decision, so we will take a bit more time.
"To have a decision, as we said, as much as we accept that everyone would like us to decide, the truth is we are not in a rush.
"We will take all the time we need, give these guys as many chances as they can have to demonstrate on track who was the best."
