Sean Dyche insisted his Nottingham Forest future would not be decided by one game ahead of a potentially pivotal home meeting with Wolves.

Forest went down 3-1 to Leeds United on Friday, as Dyche's team suffered a damaging defeat against one of their relegation rivals.

The result leaves Forest in 17th, three points above a resurgent West Ham, who face Manchester United on Tuesday.

Should the Hammers pull off a shock win against the Red Devils, they would move level on points with Forest, who host lowly Wolves a day later.

Speculation is rife over Dyche's future. The former Everton and Burnley boss replaced Ange Postecoglou in October, though some sections of the Forest fanbase are unhappy with the performances served up.

Yet Dyche brushed off those concerns, telling reporters: "I don't think over one game, it is going to be that extreme where suddenly [Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis] is going to suddenly say 'right, we need to change everything at the club for a fourth time'.

"You never know, but I am a realist and he is as well, about the current situation and what we took over here.

"The ownership have always had contact with me. The owner is well aware – and I made it clear to him – that this was never going to be smooth sailing all the way through.

"We have seen some hiccups; some good days and not so good days.

"We came off after the [Crystal] Palace game and got a really important point. A good point with 10 men and he was congratulating me.

"It is the reality of life as a modern manager. On the same day I was nominated for Manager of the Month, people are saying I should be sacked. That is a new one for me and I have been doing this a long time.

"This is the modern way, it is not about good or bad. This is not me protecting myself, it's just my view.

"There should be pressure on managers, that is our job, trying to deliver. One loss in five in the Premier League, if we win the next one we will have taken 11 points in six games."

Nottingham Forest - Morgan Gibbs-White

Gibbs-White has scored two goals in his last four Premier League appearances against his former side Wolves.

Only against Brighton (four) and Manchester United (three) has he scored in more different games in the competition.

Wolves - Tolu Arokodare

Tolu netted his second Premier League goal on Saturday as Wolves grabbed a consolation in their 3-1 home defeat to Chelsea.

He had a joint team-high three shots, and got two of those on target. With Joren Strand Larsen having departed, Tolu is set to be Wolves' first-choice forward for the rest of the season.

MATCH PREDICTION: NOTTINGHAM FOREST WIN

Wolves are winless in their last 14 Premier League away games (D3 L11), having won four in a row on the road before that. It is their longest run without an away win in the competition since the 2003-04 campaign, when they failed to win any of their 19 (D7 L12).

However, Forest are winless in their last nine home games against Wolves in all competitions (D5 L4), with each of the last four being drawn.

Forest lost 3-0 at home to West Ham in August when the Hammers were bottom of the table. The last team to lose at home to two different 20th-placed sides in a Premier League campaign were Everton in 2022-23 (v Wolves and Southampton).

But Wolves are without a win in their last six midweek Premier League away games (D3 L3), since a 4-1 victory at Brentford in December 2023.

Wolves have scored just five away goals in the Premier League this season, their lowest return after 12 away games in their league history. However, none of the last four teams to have five or fewer goals after 12 Premier League away games have been relegated that season (Forest 2022-23, Brighton 2017-18, Aston Villa 2014-15, Crystal Palace 2013-14).
