Emma Raducanu suffered a humbling straight-sets defeat to Sorana Cirstea in the Transylvania Open final.

The first seed lost 6-0 6-2 in just 64 minutes in her first Tour-level showpiece match since the 2021 US Open final, as Cirstea secured a title in what will be her final season on the WTA Tour.

After serving to love in the opening game, Cirstea converted her sixth break point of the second game as Raducanu was put under pressure straight away.

Cirstea, the home favourite, used that momentum to break twice more in the first as Raducanu could not find her rhythm in Romania.

The pair exchanged breaks early on in the second, but two further breaks saw Cirstea clinch victory, which was confirmed with a double fault by Raducanu.

It was a different outcome for Raducanu's compatriot Katie Boulter, who won her fourth Tour-level title with victory at the Ostrava Open.

Boulter came back from a set down to defeat Tamara Korpatsch 5-7 6-2 6-1 as she looks to make her way back up the rankings.

Elsewhere, 20-year-old qualifier Sara Bejlek stunned Ekaterina Alexandrova to win the Abu Dhabi Open.

She won 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 to secure her first WTA title in just her second-ever WTA 500 main draw.

Data Debrief: Nothing left in the tank for Raducanu

Raducanu seemed to be feeling the effects of her two-hour-and-49-minute win over Oleksandra Oliynykova in the semi-finals, especially on serve.

The Briton won just 50% of her first-serve points to Cirstea's 84.2% and 12.5% of her second-serve points (55.6% for Cirstea), while also recording six double faults.

Cirstea, meanwhile, became the first Romanian player to win the Transylvania Open, marking her farewell tour with a special victory.
