The Detroit Pistons and Jalen Duren have ended their stalemate, with the star center agreeing to a new five-year, $200 million contract, according to reports.

The agreement ends a four-month contract standoff between the sides and came in just ahead of Thursday's 11:59 p.m. ET deadline. Duren had until then to accept a one-year, $9.6 million qualifying offer from the Pistons, which would have made him an unrestricted free agent next summer.

After being named to the All-NBA third team, Duren was eligible to sign a five-year deal, worth up to around $287 million, or 30% of the salary cap.

The Pistons had maintained they were not going to trade Duren, as few teams had the salary cap space available to take on the maximum contract Duren was seeking. He did not get the max but is now set to make $200 million over the next five seasons.

Duren, 22, is coming off an All-Star breakout season during which he averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds on 65 percent shooting in 70 games while helping Detroit secure the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. He struggled during the playoffs, however, averaging 10.2 points and 8.2 rebounds on 51 percent shooting in 14 games as the Pistons were eliminated by the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 of the East semifinals.

Duren skipped media day and sat out the first practices of training camp after he chose not to accept a five-year, $200 million offer from the team two weeks ago. According to reports, he had offers ranging from $170 million to $190 million throughout the summer.
