Pirlo backs Ederson to make strong impact at Man Utd
Andrea Pirlo believes Ederson is "suited to the Premier League" as the midfielder edges closer to completing his move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils have reportedly agreed to a €45m (£38m) deal with Atalanta, where Ederson spent four seasons after his transfer from Salernitana.
The 27-year-old made 180 appearances across all competitions for Atalanta, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists.
Since his debut for the Italian side, only Mattia Zaccagni (959) and Bryan Cristante (991) have won more duels than Ederson's 862 among Serie A players in all competitions.
He was set to complete his move to Old Trafford earlier in the summer, but was named as a late replacement in Brazil's World Cup squad.

There will be a few changes to Old Trafford ahead of 2026/27
With the Selecao now out of the tournament, Ederson can complete his medical, and Pirlo sees the midfielder as a good fit for Michael Carrick's side.
"I think he's a player suited to the Premier League: he's a runner, dynamic and gritty," Pirlo told the Daily Mail.
"I believe he's a player capable of adapting very well to that league."
United finished third in the Premier League last season after a mid-season revival under Carrick.
The Red Devils will start the 2026-27 campaign on the road against newly promoted Hull City on August 22, before they face another promoted side in Ipswich Town a week later in their first home game.
